Introduction

This Special Sub-Jail is located under Deogarh Municipality in the district of Deogarh. It is situated on NH-6 Kolkata-Mumbai National Highway at a distance of 475 k.m from Kolkata and 1415 km from Mumbai. Deogarh is also situated at a distance of 274 k.m from BHUBANESWAR,130 k.m from Rourkela.

Facilities

  • TELEPHONE FACILITIES
    A Separate Telephone Facilities has been extended to the inmates for contact with their family members and Advocates.
  • ENGAGEMENT OF CONVICT
    Now there are 16nos of Convict Prisoner has been engaged in different works by paying Rs 40/-Per day by crediting in their Bank saving account.
  • LEGAL AID FACILITIES TO INMATES
    Legal Aid facilities is Provided to the inmates who has not given Advocate at his own expenses on behalf of DLSA Deogarh.
  • ENTERTAINMENT
    The Prisoners have been supplied with Carom, Chess, Ludu and Volley Ball to pass their leisure time. Colour Television sets have been supplied to Prisoners for their entertainment.
  • HOSPITAL FACILITIES
    One daily wages Pharmacist has been appointed for giving medical assistance to the inmates. He is attending the inmates of this Sub-Jail regularly. Besides these one Contractual Jail-Medical-Officer has also been engaged for medical check-up of inmates. Serious patients are being shifted to D.H.H Deogarh when so required.
  • YOGA & MEDITATION FACILITIES
    Yoga & meditation programme are being organized inside the jail by the member of local Art of living societies in order to reduce the mental stress level of inmates.
  • RELIGIOUS ACTIVITES
    The imamates are allowed to perform Bhajan & kritan inside the jail on festive Occasion.
